Lambdameter
LRL-005 is a low-cost device for measurements of absolute
value of Laser wavelength. Its main applications are Laser
wavelength control, Laser spectroscopy, Laser isotope
separation, alignment, tuning, and testing of tunable laser
systems. The device will be extremely useful for the users of
diode lasers, tunable dye and solid state lasers or OPO's. For
broadband sources, like multi-mode diode lasers, LRL-005 may
be used as a spectrum analyzer.
Operation of the device is based on multichannel detection
of a diffraction pattern, produced by a concave diffraction
grating.
Operation of LRL-005 requires a 100% IBM PC compatible
machine that can be supplied either by the user or by the
manufacturer.

Sensitivity: LRL-005
The sensitivity of LRL-005 is very high, but exact numbers
depend on many factors. Among them are: wavelength, source
spectrum span and shape, transverse mode structure, quality of
coupling of the beam with a fiber coupler (divergence),
wavelength-dependent losses in the fiber, detector exposure
time and so on. Some reference numbers, giving the estimates
of device sensitivity are listed in the following table.
Perfect coupling of the laser beam with a fiber coupler is
assumed.
